QUANTUM WAVE PERSPECTIVE
Start with the decision
An evaluation should answer a specific question: continue development, investigate a different approach or stop. “Explore quantum” is an interest, not an acceptance criterion. Define the workload, the current method and the conditions under which a different approach would be useful.
Establish a fair reference
A comparison needs the same problem definition and a documented environment. Identify what is measured, what is estimated and what is excluded. Resource usage, solution quality and engineering effort may point in different directions; preserve those differences.
Separate feasibility from advantage
A successful run establishes that a particular configuration executed. It does not automatically establish practical advantage. Keep compatibility, correctness, performance and operating cost as distinct review questions.
End with a decision record
Capture the result, supporting artifacts, limitations and unresolved questions. Assign an owner to the next step. An evaluation is valuable when it improves a decision, including a decision not to proceed.
